Paradise: 1 a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness.
2. a state of supreme happiness; bliss.
Surrounded by the incredible natural beauty of Islamorada and the wonderful company of my man and my daughter… Feeling bliss, happiness and love at the very least. I was in my own little paradise.
Although I packed my photog gear – none of it left the hotel room. Instead, I chose to practice both shooting and editing better images with just my iPhone 5… After all, they say the best camera for the shot is the one you have with you! So – I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them 🙂
We stayed at a sweet, older hotel called Breezy Palms… It was the quintessential, classic Florida Keys resort. Lots of bright floral decor, and just enough people around to make it feel like you stumbled upon one big family vacation, but not like a Saturday at the Mall. The first day was a little swimming, some lazy lounging and a lot of eating.
Then, we experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. Something about the wispy clouds and cotton candy skies just made my heart sing.
We started the next morning set on finding a beach for us to relax at. The weather didn’t look too promising – but nothing was going to stop our family day of fun.
We started to get really hungry at about the same time The Chech was starting to get really tired… We packed up our fun and headed off to The Key Largo Conch House – where we, Chech included, pigged out on Florida Keys culinary staples. Conch Fritters, Conch Chowder and Key Lime Pie, oh my!
On the way home we made a quick pit stop to visit our favorite Firefighter – Uncle Jimmy! Alex got to play with and see all kinds of awesome stuff – and hasn’t stopped talking about it yet.
It was amazing beyond words to spend some time with the two most important people in my life. This weekend’s impromptu trip was to celebrate Today… 4 amazing years spent with my other half. We have a relationship that is truly a gift – he makes me better in every way and still puts up with my most difficult habits. Anyone who dates a “creative” can relate I’m sure… I am so grateful for the little family we have, and am even more excited to see what is next in this adventure… From Best Friends 10 years ago, to even better friends now… I love this man!
Looks like you guys had a fabulous time!!
We did – we had an amazing time! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
