Being home with Alexandria this summer has opened her up way more to my world of Photography. She started following me around with my Cell Phone asking me to say “Cheese”! A few days ago, we hung out in my bed and took a few shots with my 5D MkII – which I thought would be WAY too heavy for her. But turns out, she was pretty motivated to make it work. Here’s what it looked like from my perspective.
This is what she shot!
Not the most flattering photo by the Chech – but I love it. You can see how funny I thought it was – because she was trying so hard to find me in the “little hole”.
So this morning, she saw me prepping some beautiful Bridal Orders for shipping, and was very curious about what exactly they were.
“Is she a Princess, Mommy?!”
“Is that her Prince?”
She has always called Brides “Princesses”, so I took a few minutes to explain what a Wedding was, and how it worked.
She looked at me and asked, “Like Jasmine marries Aladdin?”. I nodded, and she ran to the closet, and grabbed her Brobee Cuddle Pillow that she’s loved since she was a baby.
“Mom, I’m gonna marry Brobee, ok? Can I put on my Sofia Dress?”
Luckily, I had my camera nearby, and after I helped her put on her “beautiful gown”, I was able to snap a few shots of her marrying the love of her life, Brobee.
After the wedding, she quickly moved on to a puzzle that was scattered all over the floor – while I quickly uploaded them into Photoshop to show her. She sat on my lap patiently and repeated variations of “Wow!” and “Look Mommy, that’s Me!”!
After we looked through all of them, she looked up at me and said, “Mommy. I really wish Papi was here”.
“Oh yea, Chech? Why’s that?”
” Because he is my prince and who I should be married with. I love him very much.”
MELT MY HEART.
