Soooo…. we’re Engaged!

I’m not quite sure I could explain to you in any amount of words, how absolutely surprised and shocked I was. Shocked, Astonished, Aghast, Stunned – open up a thesaurus and help me pull out some more of those words… lol

Once upon a time, I planned a Super Photo Shoot for my little Alexandria. I made a few T-Shirts, found a SUPER Awesome Skirt, made a Super Sweet Cape out of Sequined Fabric… and took her to the park that overlooks West Broward County to take said Super Photos. It was the perfect setting… Sunset, high above the streets atop a hill, nice breeze so no one was grumpy. I even recruited my parents to come with me to help make Alex laugh and smile and the shoot go a little smoother. 🙂

Then, our Papi Lindo called and said he finished up with work early that he was going to meet us at the park and help out. Papi arrived, Chech got really excited, and we continued on with our Super Photo Shoot. “Babe! Come take a family photo with us, pleeeaaase” – Javy would beg me over and over and over and over and over again. And, in my natural stubbornness, I continued to decline the pleading with the excuse that my hair is a hot mess and I wasn’t wearing any makeup. Javy asked my Step-dad to take out his camera and see if he could STEAL a photo, and I got understandably upset because – well because I’m a brat and I’m annoying. lol. (BUT I WASN’T WEARING ANY MAKEUP!!!)

Fast forward to the end of the shoot, Alex was growing impatient and I was already exhausted from chasing after her. Papi scooped her up to give her besitos, so I sat – finally I sat –  and stared deep into the screen on the back of the camera, consumed in my wondering if I had achieved the shot I wanted to get so bad. Then, I heard little footsteps and looked up to see Alexandria running towards me with a little black box in her hand. I was lucky enough to have my Stepdad there with his little Camera, to capture the moments that followed.

It took me a few minutes to realize what was happening. I opened the Box, and Alexandria excitedly reported that “It’s a RING mommy! Put it on you FINGER!”. She grabbed it out and put it on my pointer finger, and I just sat there in silence. Amazed. Confused. Overwhelmed. Excited. Shocked. All of those emotions ran through my mind and I tried not to throw up.

There is nothing more amazing in this world then falling in love with your best friend… until you realize that you’re SUPER in love, raising a beautiful little family and living Happily Ever After with your best friend.
