I still can’t believe Alexandria is SEVEN. Seven years of holding her little hands, seven years of kissing those delicious cheeks.
I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday – her tiny little feet and her sweet little face. I get mad at time sometimes for moving so fast, like if it’s out to get ME. We’re not promised any of this, every single breath we take is a blessing and I think watching this child grow and blossom for the last 2,555 days.
It’s hard for me to really practice gratitude, not just to appreciate but to stop in the whirlwind of life and actually LOOK AROUND. Yesterday’s party made me want to freeze time so badly. Thank You, universe, for a beautiful day with my girl and my family. <3
Every year I really enjoy putting together whatever ‘theme’ Alex picks. Last year, we worked super hard on her Rainbow Unicorn Birthday Party and this year, Alex wanted an “Under the Sea with Mermaids” theme! Pretty specific, but I’d say we made it happen!
Everything is pieced together from either Amazon or Target and I really LOVE watching a vision come to life. I buy the desserts pre-made and decorate them based on what our theme is: Donuts are just plain glazed, cupcakes are from Publix, and cake is also from Publix! I LOVE that this cake only cost me $35 to make – figurines from Amazon + 10″ cake w buttercream frosting with instructions for aqua ombre airbrush! Easy Peasy! Donuts are plain glazed and I channeled my inner fondant artist to try to make some sweet details that popped on the table. Marshmallows are just jumbo sized, with melted strawberry frosting drizzle + gold sprinkles. For the cupcakes, I used the gold spray frosting and pink crumbles to pop on the blue set up and backdrop.
Of course we had the World Cup playing in the background! Fun Fact, Colombia played Brazil during Alexandria’s 3rd Birthday, Fourth of July Extravaganza, so I love that every 4 years she gets to have a World Cup coincide with her Birthday Parties!
I also created a super fun present station in the living room to help tie in all the decor. This little coral reef space was made with pool noodles and some Party City inflatable Fish!
This was our very first party at our brand new house, and we were so excited to see how everything played out at our house. We were a little nervous about the crowds in the pool, so we contacted Fun in the Sun Bounce House (@funinthesunpr) to help disperse the crowds. This CRAZY slide was TWENTY FEET HIGH, and both the little kids and adult children had a BLAST playing on this thing. As an added bonus, Robert was so helpful in answering my questions, addressing my concerns about weather and setting up everything fast and easily.
LOOK AT THAT BIRTHDAY GIRL SMILE!!!
So happy to have had such an exciting activity for our guests to have fun with – we cant express how happy all the kids were sliding and splashing all day long!
I was so happy that all of our guests fit so nicely in our yard – one of the reasons we loved this house so much was how much entertaining space it had and how well the home flowed from one area to another.
I am also super grateful to At Ease Party Rental who again this year showed up with the yummiest food & snacks for all of our guests. They are so helpful, incredibly kind and their food is just delish. We got Chicken Nuggets, Burgers and Pan con Lechon and everyone loved it!
We had so much fun spending time with the people who mean the world to us – and we are so grateful for all the fun we had with our friends and family!!!
