It’s no secret that we LOVE Brightline in our family – so when we heard that they were partnering with Rail Events productions to offer an authentic Polar Express experience we were PUMPED to get to preview it with our friends Emma and Owen from Laura&Co!
We arrived and got our Golden Tickets to board! The girls were pumped to have an authentic GOLDEN TICKET to ride on the Polar Express!
We enjoyed some sweets at the welcome reception and chatted away with our friends!
Then it was time to jump onboard the train!
Once boarded, the futuristic, streamlined Brightline train car was effectively transformed into the magical, musical train cars that felt straight out of the Movie Polar Express.
We flapped our golden tickets – and made golden ticket confetti to celebrate our ride.
The actors and performers were absolutely incredible and stayed in character from start to finish, allowing us to feel like we were truly transported onto the Polar Express!
Then it was time to begin the story – professional actors ooh’d and aaah’d us with their talented acting & singing.
But nothing was as fun as singing Hot Chocolate with the crew and getting to drink the perfectly “temperatured” Hot Chocolate & eating sugar cookies while singing Christmas songs and listening to the actors read the actual Polar Express story book!
Then it was time for Mimi’s favorite part – Dance Party time!!!
Soon, the actors returned to their Polar Express story, helping our hero remember why it’s important to believe in the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus.
The big man himself even showed up, with magical bells to encourage us all to believe. Each child got a special gift from santa – a magical jingle bell!
Overall the Polar Express experience was a LOT of fun and perfect for my girls who are both VERY into the magic of Christmas.
I would recommend the The Polar Express experience on Brightline, to other families like ours, with a few things to keep in mind:
- I think this is perfect for kids 3 and up, maybe some older 2 year olds would enjoy. This experience requires you to stay seated for the entire hour long show, and I could see how younger kids could find that a challenge, especially since the performances are at the center of the train car most of the time. Actors did a GREAT job engaging my girls throughout the entire experience, but I could see how it might be too long for the younger munchkins.
- Watch the movie the night or afternoon before! Having each of the songs and the storyline fresh in their minds made the experience that much more magical. Each time the story shifted Mimi would excitedly look over at me and yell “JUST LIKE THE MOVIE!” and I think that contributed to how wonderful the ride was for them.
- This is a non-destination train ride, and the usual Brightline experience aboard hte train is a little different. The train travels north towards the West Palm Station, but stops and then goes backwards back to the FTL station. Make sure to bring water or any other snacks you may need! The only bevs / food they have on the train is the hot chocolate & sugar cookie as part of the show. I made the mistake of thinking they’d have the usual Brightline snacks available and regretting not having water after drinking that sugary hot chocolate!
Thank You Brightline for allowing us to make these beautiful memories with our friends!
