The last few weeks have been pretty stressful and the anxiety monster has been slowly creeping out of the little cave where it resides in my brain. When this whole “Irmageddon” chaos began that ‘fight or flight’ reflex just started bubbling… and since I cannot fight 185 mph I chose flight. At first most people said I was being dramatic, and that ‘We’re Floridians, we STAY!’. “There’s no gas!” they would shout through their fingertips in texts. “You’re going to get stuck in traffic and then the hurricane’s going to come while you’re on I-95!”, people would type in FB posts. Clearly I was the one being dramatic. <insert eye roll here>
Which leads me to a bigger point and kind of a theme in my world lately… just because someone is doing something different than you, DOESN’T MEAN IT’S BAD. It doesn’t mean one is better than the other.
It was so nice to get away for a bit – and enjoy some peace and quiet. I MAY or may not have accidentally booked a little cabin without Cable or Internet – and it was nice to just disconnect, let the kids play in the mountain dirt and hang out for a while.
I didn’t shoot much on this trip – but I did document a bit of our cabin, our adventure into the Great Smoky Mountains and our evening enjoying Smores at sunset. I hope these girls remember this forever – I know I sure will. <3
The Sunset from the cabin deck was pretty spectacular – something I won’t ever forget. <3
